I fondly remember my Uncle Art and his Ford Galaxy car he had when I was a child. His quick wit and humor made him my favorite uncle in those years. I recall the excitement of watching him and my dad, Gerhard Forsen, at the stock car races, a pastime they shared together. The first time I watched colour TV was watching an episode of 'Wild Kingdom' on a colour TV in Uncle Art's shop. My condolences go out to my Aunt Ann and cousins Greta and Kristian.

Oh Ann. We too, are dismayed with the passing of your Renaissance man. Unable to attend the church service, we watched the Messiah video. Oh my (make that UFFDA!) - what a splendid tribute to Art Reiten. So many carefully remembered thoughts and incorporated details - Norwegian sweaters all around, fishing rods, barnwood casket etc. In our minds, Art was a very large community builder - the mark of a noble man. Of course he is still here with us. He did leave very large foot prints and in the video, I saw that he had instilled all his honorable traits into his children. His legacy lives on. You now walk a new path and I hope your memories help propel you forward. And those eyes of his! When you locked gazes with him, you saw warmth and humor radiating out and you knew he was looking into your soul too.
We will make a memorial donation.
With much respect and admiration for you,
Peg and Steve Shuman

My dearest condolences to you Ann, Gretta & Kristine & families. I will often wonder if Art & my Hubby Don Bratttly will be riding as Ghost Riders In The Sky, on their motorcycles, & stock cars as they did many years ago? They will probably meet more of the friends\from the ''Gents Car Club'' in Camrose, In heaven.. May they REST IN PEACE, Art was a very dear friend, & will be missed. Sending Prayers!!

The first time we met Art was in his store in 1980. He recognized our accents and told us his wife was also Dutch and even from Friesland. He told Ann about us and they were so very helpful and kind to us newcomer. Over the years we became very close friends.
You all have our deepest condolences and our thought are with you.
