I did not meet Fr. Larry in person, but spoke with him over the phone often over the last four or five years in relation to the history of St-Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Camrose. The large bell donated by René Lemarchand was the subject of our initial conversation and over time as I began working on the letters of Fr. Hippolyte Beillevaire, who established the parish of St. Thomas of Duhamel, and was the first priest to say mass at Camrore, Fr. Larry was always available to answer my questions, especiallay as concerns the intricacies of the Church's rituals. I spoke to him last in December when he had told me he was not doing well, but I hoped to be able to meet him in February, when I am planning to be in Camrose for a few days. He was generous and kind to me and I came to regard him as a friend. My sincere condolences to his family and to all his friends who are feeling the loss of such a warm person.
