Lois and Harry were such a welcoming family to we "newbie" Flight Simulator Airforce members to Moose Jaw. Not only was their home on the road to the Base but the doors were always open to all. Our Section always enjoyed your Mom and Dad's hospitality along with their humor. Yes, Lois' artistic designs were much to be cherished as we saw her proud showing at the Moose Jaw Mae Wilson Cultural Centre some years after she had moved from here.
Memories are what we all are left with. Enjoy yours.

I had the great pleasure of meeting Lois at several Urquhart reunions. I enjoyed the talks we had. She was a lovely lady. My sincere sympathies to all the family. I am the middle daughter of Eric Urquhart who was the baby of the 16 children. I had hoped I would get out west in the next few years and Lois was a stop I wanted to make. I would love to have contact Info for any of you and hope to meet when our trip happens. God bless

I am a first cousin to Lois and wish to send condolences to all of her family members.
We had many happy times together when the Urquhart Family Reunions were celebrated.
Please accept my heartfelt sympathies at this sad and traumatic time.
Lois will forever be in my heart...
Sincerely and with much sorrow for your loss...

Lois truly was the artistic talent who could bring laughter and great food ( Nanaimo bars especially) to any gathering!
A mentor for grandchildren to achieve and a pioneer of women in her era.
I’m proud to say most of all a friend for many years too!
God has taken our solar light to shine up there!

Lois exhibited tenacity and determination in everything she applied herself to. Whether it was volunteering for the National Federation of Federal Retirees, writing poetry and prose for the Alexandra’s Writers Centre or earning her degree in Fine Arts at ACAD where she enrolled and immersed herself passionately, in her studies; upon retiring from her career at the Foothills Hospital.
Lois you coloured our lives, both as our step mother and a devoted companion to our late father, just as you coloured your outstanding artwork. It was clear you enjoyed creativity and brought beautiful water colour images to canvas.
One of your favourite artists said the following.
“To create one’s own world takes courage.” – Georgia O’Keeffe
That quote sums up your life. Moving around the world as a military wife, exploring and making a home, in far away places for your husband Harry and 3 children, with each move. Finding the second love of your life in our father, Bob, after Harry passed and taking a leap of faith in a second marriage, for another 40 years of new adventures and travels across Canada and the USA.
A life well lived, a love well shared, a liberty well earned. Rest easy Lois.
With love, the Dykstra Family

Lois you were an inspiration to us all. Going back to school at the age of 65 and getting your Bachelor of Arts degree. Your love of music, and zest for life. You will be missed my friend, grandmother and great grandmother. Our hearts go out to the families left behind.
Love Ken, Donna and family.

I love you and miss you so much grandma. I’m so lucky to have had you as such a big part of my life for as long I did. I’m incredibly grateful for all the dates, life talks, games nights, holidays, birthdays, and red lobster biscuits we got to share together. You were always so supportive of me and I really appreciate that and everything you taught me. I’ll always cherish you and all the wonderful memories we have together.
