Dad, you inspired me throughout my life to be the best version of myself. I will miss our talks, for you were a great listener and offered suggestions anchored in wisdom. I have dear memories of building our home together, watching and learning how to navigate such things.
You were always there to take me to hockey practice at 4 am, knowing that it was important to me, so it was important to you.
You presented me with my pilot wings when I passed my RCAF pilot course in 1988. It was a moment shared between a father and son, both who took pride in serving their country.
One reaps what they sew, so it was no surprise that you were loved dearly by those fortunate enough to be in your life. You loved without condition and it was infectious.
Thank you Dad. Thank you for being gentle yet driven, compassionate with conviction, and loving life with all it offered.
Rest now. I will love you forever.
Your son,Shannon

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Mac. I truly feel blessed to have known him all these years. He was a friendly face when I started my practice sharing Maritime roots. He was kind, respectful, intelligent and would do anything for anyone in need. May you find peace in the days that follow.
