Lots of memories of Jennifer flood back to my memory. Her ever present smile is a lasting one. My first memory of Jenn was in her first year at LCBI. I think it was the first Friday night for the students. Many of them went downtown to check out what the town had to offer so campus was very quiet. I went to the Chapel for some reason, I don't remember why I went there. Jenn was there, all alone playing hymns on the organ. She seemed sad and I think she was a little homesick. I talked to her for a minute or two and being a new student, I barely knew her name. She assured me that everything was all right. That was probably the last time that she was alone at LCBI because she had an infectious fun loving personality and was always surrounded by friends. Jennifer made our Provincial Track and Field Team, if I remember correctly in her first year at LCBI in one of the sprints. She was so excited to advance that far and I was very proud of her accomplishments. She was always very quick. The world is a poorer place now that she is gone. May she rest in peace.
My condolences,
Cliff

I will never forget that we all spent many years (20) as neighbors and friends. When my twin boys died, Jen was there for me and many other times as well. I felt like part of the family and I love you and miss you all. I have been and will continue to pray for you all.

We are so deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our friend Jennifer. She had been a huge part of our support system as we serve in Guatemala, from the first year we arrived until her passing. We have many fond memories of her servant heart, compassion for the people and love for Jesus. She was very genuine in sharing her time and talents with others. She would sit on the floor and play with little children, teach musical instruments to our youth, act out Bible lessons, sing songs, and so much more.
She had longed to share her passion with her family and we had the privilege of serving alongside Ben prior to his passing. This past February, she was thrilled to have Gord come with her to see where a part of her heart was. This visit was very special to her and to us as we got to visit a family and pray for them and their fields. They had been struggling to keep their tomatoes healthy, and we all prayed over their crop. The next time we saw the family, we heard that their tomatoes were doing great. At the end, they reaped a very large harvest and were very excited. There were so many times where we saw God at work and celebrated His goodness together.
Now Jennifer is celebrating with Jesus and this keeps us going in fulfilling our purpose until the end. Jennifer was a great inspiration to us and a model to follow. She was often on our bi-weekly prayer calls and even once called and prayed from the combine. It was just who Jennifer was. Nothing would hold her back, nothing was too scary, and nothing would stop her from singing praise songs, praying for others and sharing God's love.
Since we have received the news of her passing, we have been praying for you, Gord, Sean and Grethe. And also, for all those who knew and loved her. We wish we could hug and pray with you in person. May God give you much hope and comfort through the pain. We can't imagine how you are feeling, but know that on this side of heaven, it won't make sense. Please know that we are 'here' for you. May you feel our prayers and be encouraged to take one step forward each day, making them count. This would have been what Jennifer wanted.
Sending all our love.

I’m so sad to hear of the loss of Jennifer. My deepest condolences to Gord and Sean, her mom, Ruby, and the entire family. I met Jen when we were at Augustana back in 1984 and became friends thru Vina and Bryan. She lived with us during her first few months at the U of A and then I catered hers and Gord’s wedding at Messiah Lutheran. Our boys played together at Bible Camp and we always enjoyed catching up with each other’s lives at camp. I will forever remember her energy and strength. May the lord fill you with mercy and strength.

I cannot adequately convey my deep sorrow for the family and for all who loved Jennifer. Her loss is profound, but even more so, her life was a profound blessing to all who knew her. The deep love she had for Jesus, Gordon, her boys, her mom, sister and family, missions, her church family and friends was apparent to all who knew her! I look so forward to our reunion someday in eternity, where all our tears and sorrow will be wiped away forever.
