Shirley Berry De Deugd

(September 10, 1937 - October 12, 2023)

Shirley De Deugd, beloved Mother, Grandmother, sister and friend passed away October 12, 2023, at the age of 86. She was surrounded by loved ones in her final hours and passed peacefully.

Shirley was known for her kind heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Shirley enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, volunteering, and baking. She treasured her many friendships, her small church community and time spent with her family. Shirley loved children, dogs and her collection of porcelain dolls.

Shirley will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Nancy (Bill) Wilkison of Diamond Valley; grandchildren Breanne Wilkison (Jason Doherty) of Calgary and Joshua (Nikki) Wilkison of High River; brother Ray (Darlene) Aikman; son-in-law David Moench; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Shirley was predeceased by her husband Hendrik “Harry” De Deugd; daughter Lisa Moench; parents Gordon and Martha Aikman; sisters Helen (Eldon) and Nora; and brothers William “Bill”, John “Jack” (Pauline), George, and Gordon.   

A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 28, 2023 from the Burgar Memorial Chapel, 4817 - 51 Avenue Camrose officiated by Rev. David Eriksson. You are invited to join the family for fellowship and refreshments immediately following the service at the Masonic Hall (5021 48 St).
