Obituary of Evelyn Lovrod

Evelyn Lovrod

(December 22, 1935 - December 25, 2023) 

Evelyn Lovrod passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Christmas morning at City Hospital in Saskatoon. She is survived by her daughter Marie; her son Jim; her grand-daughter Nerissa Dickson and husband Brent; great-granddaughters Sabrina and Brooklynn; grandsons Keiffer and Ian; her sister Lillian; brother-in-law Leif Lovrod and his wife Arlene; God-daughter Beth Borgal; and a host of nieces, nephews, their partners and descendants.  

Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Ole; parents Erling and Ingrid Buchholdt; her siblings Marie, Ingrid, and Erling and their spouses Norman, Chester, Martin and Helen; her in-laws Jacob and Kari Lovrod; her siblings-in-law Harold and Margaret and husband Joe; her son-in-law Robert Barry Francos; nephews Greg Banack, Ronnie, David and Gary Smith, and Peter Buchholdt; and great-niece Karen Banack.

Evelyn Buchholdt was born in 1935 and attended school in Valhalla Center, Alberta, where her parents farmed before retiring to Camrose, Alberta. She graduated from the Canadian Lutheran Bible Institute and worked at Bethany Sunset Home, until she married Ole Martin Lovrod in June of 1959.

With the birth of her children, Evelyn became a full-time farming mother and community builder. A woman of faith in joyful and troubled times. Evelyn came from a musical family and was still harmonizing with her sister, Lillian last fall, humming along with guests who sang old favourites at her 88th birthday in December. Evelyn had an honest heart, a loving sense of humour, and made friends easily, even with dementia.  
 

A Funeral Service was held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Bawlf Lutheran Church, officiated by Rev. Calvin Skriver.
