Dear Wanda, Joette and Dean,
We extend our condolences to you and your family in the loss of your dad, Joe. Joe and Doris were our neighbours when we grew up in Provost. We can both remember Joe playing cards in the basement of the old Catholic Church shortly after he arrived in Provost and babysitting for you in the late 1950s and early 1960s. When Wanda started Grade One, she walked with Sharon to her first day of school at St. Thomas Aquinas. Frances recalls the time that your dog Poncho ate your chocolate treats after Joe and Doris hid them outside your home one Easter morning and we both have fond memories of coffee time with our mom and yours.

Our deepest sympathies at the loss of your Dad. He was a wonderful fellow and a very good friend of my parents years ago in Provost, Lawrence and Anne Hoff. My friend Donna’s room was only 3 doors from Joe’s in Bethany and it was good to visit with him, especially when he first got there and his mind was still pretty sharp. In June he proudly told me that he had turned 96.
He told me once that he was lucky because he had been blessed with good kids. Joette, your Dad was definitely blessed with your faithfulness in coming every Tuesday to visit him.
Hold on to all your good memories. I’m sure there are lots of them. Take care.
