Lora Virginia Reay

(October 27, 1937 - January 27, 2024)

Lora Virginia Reay passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at age of 86 years at Bethany Care Center in Camrose. She is survived by her husband Willy; her daughter Marjorie; her son Carl; as well as numerous grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband Allen; and her son Kenneth.

Lora was born in Wainwright and remained in Alberta for most of her life. Many years of her life were spent on a farm in Ponoka, where she lived with her husband Allen and his children. She loved her family and stepchildren, always doing everything she could for them.

Lora loved living in the country, being outside and spending time in her garden.  She loved to spend time in the mountains camping and trail riding. Lora was a talented artist and enjoyed playing the piano or keyboard as well. She had a great eye for decorating and transformed all the places she lived in into amazing and beautiful spaces.

Lora loved people and she loved Jesus. Her faith was strong and it was very important to her. She discovered the joy and peace that comes with having a close personal relationship with Him. Lora knew that this world was only a temporary home, that in fact Jesus will come soon to take her to her everlasting one. As a Seventh Day Adventist she knew that time on earth is quickly running out, but she looked forward with blessed assurance to the second coming.

"For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord." I Thessalonians 4:16-17 

A private family service will be held.
