Mrs. McCormick (smily eyes) I read a book called "High Heels and Oil Rigs" and while I was reading I kept thinking about Helen. I appreciate the support that was given to me when working as a second cook on the rigs. I also got to work with her and John in the kitchen. We packed up the wagon and some Alberta beef to cook for Ian Tyson at his ranch. I am grateful to be a friend of the family. All our relations Holli Garvin

What a wonderful and interesting lady Helen was. I would love to be there on Thursday, but its far from here and I am no longer up to such a long drive. My thoughts and momories will be with you all. I met Helen in 2001 as well as Guy and Cameron at that time. Please say hello to Guy and Cameron for me. I did vist Her and Cameron in the spring of that year in Lang Saskatchewan. The Resturant ( or shop as Helen called it )I will always remember. It was uneek with her paintings and the smell of the morning coffee. Such a wonderful lady. I will miss our chats and emails. As Helen would say Big Hugs and dont work to hard Geoff. Well its my turn to say Big Hugs to all of you now. My very best to you all. Helen I know your gone and I accept that. May thoughts and prayers are always with you. As ever, Helen's old friend. Geoff

It is with deep sadness to hear of Helen's passing, but I know that she is in a better place and reunited with Dad.....I met Helen in around the time I finished high school, I attended the wedding and from then on, always kept in touch with the both of them. Family occasions and other get togethers were always a wonderful time. I remember one weekend when I lived in Chilliwack and they were running the "Pawtuckets" trailer with the exhibition, I know from talking to the staff around the grounds that everyone always ate at the Pawtuckets trailer, the food was incredible, Dad and Helen were the most awesome cooks I have ever come to know in my life. They both taught me alot in the ways of cooking and to this day I am always complimented on my "cooking" knowledge, I will always be grateful for that. I found Helen to be a wonderful confidante, I was able to confide in her and I admired her strength and courage and the fact that she treated me like her own daughter. She made me feel special and loved. We didn't keep in touch as much after Dad passed but in the last year we did correspond off and on, I enjoyed hearing from her and was always quick to reply. She will be missed and to you Skiper, will you forever laugh and love in the great beyond.......... With Love Always, Your Step-daughter, Barb

I have many fond memories of my Aunt Helen. I think the first memory I have and one of the best is the wedding in 1978 to my Uncle John. That was the first wedding I ever went to (I was five-years-old) and not only was it a great time, it was a marriage that I still look at as an example. They always seemed happy and a real team. I know she is in a much better place and I am sure she is thrilled to see John again. I have no doubt they are cooking up something right now.

What an interesting woman. Trish and I met Helen only once at a breast cancer fund raiser in Calgary last year about this time. We were introduced to her through Guy. I was totally fascinated by the stories of her life experiences. She had such a sense of humor and left a lasting impression in such a short time. She seemed to live life to the fullest. We will never forget her even though we only knew her for a few hours.

Helen was a loving grandmother and an insightful friend to me. I have many great memories of her especialy those from the years that I spent living in Lang. Always open minded, Helen never really wanted to act her age (even though she was a fairly young Grandmother)and certainly had the speeding tickets to prove it. I was very sad to hear about Grandma and I will miss her dearly. Unfortunatly I cannot attend the memorial but my thoughts are with all of you (my family and her friends) as much as they are with her. I am sad because she is gone, but I feel relief because she doesnt feel any pain; I am anxsious because now she can see all I do, I am happy because she is with those she lost, again. I Love you, I miss you Cam

My sympathies to Andy, Patty and Nicky. Helen came into my life some 30yrs ago when she met and eventually married my father John, they seemed to have been meant for each other and Im sure that by now they are both cookin up a storm, working side by side again.Helen and I have had our ups and downs, mostly ups, after I got out of the rebelious teenage yrs. I didnt get into too much trouble with her though as just when she was about to holler I would raise one eyebrow, and she would loose it and start laughing, that seemed to work for a few yrs.We had a lot of laughs through the yrs We were on a road trip to somewhere and it was cold, Dad and Helen had their windows open, probably so Nicky and I wouldnt get second hand smoke, little did they know that we would puff away when they wern't home, lol, Out of nowhere I blurted out that I was nanook of the North, as it has to be below freezing in the car by then.Helen just roared at my outburst, she still brought that one up yrs later. I have a lot of memories to hang onto. I could go on and on about little things that made her who she was, but we all know to well, that she was an outspoken liberated woman. So happy trails Skiper, my dearest step-mom till we meet again. your loving step daughter , Lisa
