Ms. Alice Aker of Camrose, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the age of 98 years. Alice Aker was born on the family farm near Bawlf, Alberta on September 27th, 1909 to parents Ole and Rebecca Aker. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and was a dedicated member of the Skudesness congregation. She was a very active and faithful member of the ELW and also a member of the Bawlf Auxiliary Legion #232. Alice lived on the family farm until she moved with her sister Edna to Camrose in 1986. Alice is survived by her nieces Evelyn Urichuk and family, and Bev Dalen and family. Alice is also survived by her friends Chester (Valerie) Forre and Glenn (Cheryl) Forre and family. Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Clara and Edna; and brothers, Joe, Ray, and Ed, and nephew Carl Dalen. Alice will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit and her loving nature. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 26, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Skudesness Lutheran Church with Pastor Calvin Skriver officiating. Interment followed in the Skudesness Cemetery. Memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to the Skudesness Lutheran Church.
