Obituary of Mabel Prysko
Please share a memory of Mabel to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Mabel Prysko of Camrose passed away Friday, September 26, 2014 at the age of 95 years.
Mabel was born on May 22, 1919 in Stettler, Alberta to Thomas and Elsie Duncan. Her two sisters Esther and Isabelle and her one brother were born in Scotland prior to her parents moving to Canada.
She married Bill Prysko and settled into farm life close to Edmonton. She was the quintessential home maker and helped her husband while raising their family. She loved baking and gardening and found great satisfaction in providing for her family and friends through these activities. They later moved to a farm near Camrose.
Her father referred to her as Wee Mabe, but she was only "Wee" in stature. She was mighty in spirit and has always been a fighter. She has faced and overcome numerous challenges in her life and will be remembered as one who never gave up.
Left to cherish her memory are her children Garry (Gail) of Camrose, and Dennis (Janet) of Edmonton; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mabel was predeceased by her husband Bill; one daughter Marion Murray; one brother; and two sisters.
Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 3, 2014 from Bethany Meadows Chapel with Rev. Norm Lentz officiating. Interment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery.
If family and friends so desire memorial donations are gratefully accepted to Hope Mission Edmonton (9908 106 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5H 2N7).
