Anna Olesa Durand passed away with her family by her side on November 25th, 2014 at the age of 94. Anna was born September 17, 1920 to parents Ole and Tilda Hanson on their farm north of Monitor, Alberta.
Left to cherish her memory are her children; Irene (Bruce) Oberholtzer, Connie (Soren) Bech, Margy Dahl, Gerry (Irvin) Reddemann, Lee (Linda), Donald (Judy), Denise (Rod) Blatz, Jim (Rhonda), Dianne Backs, Ken (Connie), Laurie (David) Odegard, Brian, and Tony (Laurie), step-children; Kip (Mary), Marie Lewin, daughter in-law Karen, sisters; Edith Kinnee (and friend Lawrence), Bernice Barber, and Lillian (Ron) Ference, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Henry, both parents, sons; Gene and Danny, step-son Robert, step-daughter Louise, sons in-law; Ed Lewin, Bing Wilcox, Willy Dahl, and Jim Backs, brothers; Olav C and Olav L Hanson, sisters; Mabel Hanson, Gladys Bogen, Ida Gregory, Thelma Bogen, Elsie Sitler, and Delores Bogen.
Anna was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2014 from Messiah Lutheran Church with Rev. Bill Harder officiating. Burial has taken place in St. Thomas Cemetery, Duhamel, Alberta.
If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to STARS or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
