Dear George and family, My very deepest sympathy in Joyce's passing. She was a very special person and was so welcoming when I came to Camrose to work on unit 4. She presented herself in a very professional manner and ran the unit so well. After she retired, we never found anyone who could keep things as well organized and stocked. I hope you have happy memories of her to hold in your hearts. Sincerely, Barb Lawrence

I am very saddened to hear about Joyce's passing. I first met her as an unwed young woman having a baby at St. Mary's. She was the only kind nurse to me and I would wait until she came on her evening shift, and she would come directly to me knowing that the other nursing staff hadn't checked on me. I wish I would have told her how much that meant to me. Later she babysat occasionally that little boy that I had so long ago. Thank you Joyce - all these years I have often thought of you and what a diffeence your kindness meant to me!!

My deepest sympathies to your family during this difficult time. My heart dropped this morning when I read this news. Losing a mother and your dad's life partner is devastating. There is no other way to say it. We have both recently lost our mother's now, but have to hold strong to those memories and know they are in a better place, free from suffering the pain of cancer. Her time here was short, but she knew how to live life to its fullest. Be happy knowing that the grandkids will have memories of her that they will pass on to their kids. You'll feel her presence surrounding you,as that little voice. Thinking of you all, especially your dad at this time. Love you, Tonia

Joyce & George met my birthmom and her husband at St. George's on their way to Arizona a couple times. I loved how Joyce told me about their get togethers. She took the time to come tell me. And as a nurse she could do CPR on a newborn and stay in total control. I truly admire her. She will be so overjoyed to see her girl in heaven. My heart goes to her family who will miss her.
