Joyce Costar was born at Ferintosh on June 16, 1926. She passed away suddenly on August 5, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. She took her schooling in Ferintosh. Joyce married the love of her life, Kenneth Costar and they continued the farming operation at New Norway. They worked together, and played together. Nieces and nephews were always welcomed to stay the night. She loved to cook and bake and the coffee pot was always on. Joyce moved to Camrose after the passing of Kenny, and has always missed the farm and her garden.
Her friendship, wit, and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her brother Harvey Germanick of Camrose; sister-in-law Marion Germanick of Ferintosh; nieces and nephew, Carol (Ryan) Hunting, Lois (Mark) Perry, Diane Germanick, Terry (Peter) Weimar, Janice (Ted) Shingleton, and Allan Germanick. Joyce is also survived by several great nieces and nephews and relatives in Ukraine. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Andrew, and sister-in-law Edna Germanick.
A private graveside service was held at the New Norway Cemetery.
