Obituary of Eleanor Stark

Eleanor Florence Stark of Camrose passed away on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the age of 95 years. Eleanor was born to Ernest and Caroline Stark in Camrose, Alberta. She attended East Bittern Lake School, Camrose Lutheran College (now Augustana University) and the Christian Training Institute (now Taylor University). Later she attended Nurses' Training, graduating from a four year course at Ponoka in 1946. After working several years as a nurse, she attended McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. In 1955, she went to India as a Missionary Nurse. In 1977, she could not return to India due to her mother's health and went to work at Rosehaven where she worked until 1987 when she retired. Eleanor is survived by her sister-in-law Irma Stark, 12 nieces and nephews, several cousins and many friends. She was predeceased by father Ernest, mother Caroline, infant brother Julius, brother Reuben, sister Lorraine (George) McDonald, brother Donald and his twin sister Dora (Ernie) Taylor, and sister-in-law Dorothy Stark. A funeral service for Eleanor was held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30th, 2016 from the Century Meadows Baptist Church in Camrose with Pastor Mark Morris officiating.
