Obituary of Donald Sheets

Donald James Sheets of Camrose, formerly of Rosalind, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017, at the age of 81 years. Don was born to Hugh and Ragna, the fifth son in the family, in Camrose, Alberta, May 14, 1935 holding the record of the biggest baby at St. Mary's Hospital. Don married Linda on June 2, 1973, melding together a family of yours, mine and ours. Farming in the Rosalind District for fifteen years and then after their children moved on, they retired to Camrose in 2015. Don's love of horses, auctions and pony chuck races kept him very busy but not out of mischief. However, anyone who knew Don knew that his love for his family came first. Don is survived by his wife Linda of 43 years; daughters Tracy (Darrel) Scott of Kamloops, B.C., Linda Sheets of Rosalind; sons Bob of Calgary and Darcy (Melissa Gisle) of Rosalind; grandchildren Brock, Kori, Jaycee and Carter; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws, friends and neighbors. He was predeceased by his first wife Connie; parents Hugh and Ragna; brothers Lloyd, Lyle, Russel; infant brother Glen; sisters Shirley Lindberg and Helen Adams. Don will be forever missed and always remembered in the hearts of all who knew him. A Funeral Service was held at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from CityLights Church in Camrose, Alberta, with Rev. Terry Cartier officiating. Inurnment has taken place in the Camrose Cemetery. If family and friends so desire memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to S.T.A.R.S. Air Ambulance or to the Melville Cemetery Fund.
