Please share a memory of Diana to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Diana Margaret Bigstone of Camrose, Alberta, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017, at the age of 72 years. Diana Margaret was born in Ashburton, New Zealand on March 6, 1945. Firstborn daughter of Cecil and Myola Young, her siblings Christine and Bruce followed after. After spending her teenage years around the islands, she ventured off travelling the world on her own, eventually finding a home in Alberta. She fell in love with Camrose and the people. The friends she made early on were friends for life. After raising Jason and Tania as a single parent, she found joy in helping others who needed help. She loved and adored spending time with her two grandchildren, Ryerson and Noah, and would often send little notes and cards telling them she loved them. Diana loved to paint and draw and was a very good artist. She enjoyed working on crafts and taking her long walks. She adored seeing the swans and mentioned them often. She made several trips back home in the past few years and her latest was only weeks ago. She was so happy to see her friends and visit her homeland. Now the time has come for her to return home one last time. She will be joining her grandmother as her final resting spot. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jason (Billie) Young of Lethbridge, and Tania Bigstone (Andrew Morse) of Halifax; grandchildren, Ryerson and Noah; and sister Christine (Noel) Johnson of New Zealand. She was predeceased by her brother Bruce Young; and parents Cecil and Myola Young. A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, May 5, 2017, from Burgar Memorial Chapel with Rev. Brian Hunter officiating. Inurnment will take place in New Zealand at a later date. If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Edmonton Humane Society or to S.T.A.R.S Air Ambulance.
