Obituary of Gerald William Lutness

Gerald William Lutness

(March 2, 1938 - August 24, 2018)

Gerald was born March 2, 1938 in Camrose, Alberta.  Sadly, he passed away on August 24, 2018 in the University Hospital, Edmonton, at the age of 80 years.  

Gerald is survived by his sister Alice Joan (Brad) Jones; stepsons Ross Hanson and Kurt Hanson; step great-granddaughter Brittany; brother-in-law Don; sister-in-law Helen; nieces Carrie and Jane; nephews Randy, Russell, Gerald M. W. and Shane; four great nieces; four great nephews; one great-great nephew; and one great-great niece.   He is also survived by his best friend and companion, Spook.

Gerald was predeceased by his wife Iola; his parents Emma and Arthur (Camrose); brother Vernon (Sherwood Park); sister Beatrice (Calgary); brother Walter (Minnesota); three infant sisters and one infant brother.  

Gerald's family would like to thank his many friends, neighbours and extended family for the kindness and caring they've shown him over the years.  They'd also like to thank them for their thoughtfulness and the help extended to them during his recent illness.  A special thanks to Debra for her love and care of Spook.  

At Gerald's request, no formal service will be held.  Cremation has taken place and scattering of his ashes will occur at a later date in Valleyview Cemetery, Camrose.  

If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions are gratefully accepted to Stollery Children's Hospital or to the Battle River Animal Protection Society (BRAPS),  or to the Camrose and Area Animal Shelter Society.
